I got my bike, started putting it together. I need to really concentrate on moving stuff out, so I figured, if I can't sleep then I'll have to move stuff. So I dissembled my bed. I'm starting to think that I need to do the same with the computer, so my next blog post will be from a laptop.
:) I can feel changes coming, we'll be living in tents in the next few days, and I'll be riding that bike constantly as soon as it's put together.
Inspired by billions of other people, I've decided to create a blog to update people on my adventures. This is starting in late March 2011, but I'd like to keep it going. I will update it with everything involved in my trip to Europe, including preparation for said trip.

According to my calculations...
So I just used the school stationary bike for a half an hour. While I did vary a lot on speed, from about 8mph at the lowest and a little over 25mph at the highest, I averaged out at slightly higher than 14mph.
This means, that given our miles over the trip, which is melted down to approximately 30 miles a day, I should only spend a little over 2 hours bicycling every day that I'm in Europe.
Honestly that doesn't sound bad at all. If I put in some extra time every week, we can have plenty of extra time to stay in Dublin before we return home.
To better demonstrate the trip I've created an illustration of our plans.
This is the basic idea. We will skip Greece if we feel we don't have enough time.
In addition to working out, we'll also be moving out of our apartment and into tents in my dads backyard. Not only will this save us a bunch of money, it should also prepare us for living in tents most of the time in Europe.
